We offer a variety of services including: Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Family Therapy. While each clinician brings unique and special skills – be those Psychopharmacology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, emotion/experiential therapies or ketamine-assisted therapies – we will discuss thoroughly with you about what will help to be the most efficient and long lasting treatment.

  • Scott Schinaman, Psy.D., MBA, CEDS-S

    Managing Partner & Founder

    Dr. Schinaman is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, Southern New Hampshire University and the California School of Professional Psychology, where he received a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He completed his residency and post-doctoral training in Integrated Behavioral Health at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

    Dr. Schinaman has advanced post-graduate training and expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychopharmacology, Nutrition, and Maudsley Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders.

    Dr. Schinaman has presented at regional, national and university based symposiums on mood disorders, adolescent eating disorders, eating disorders in performance athletes and critical incident stress management (CISM). He is a Registered Health Service Psychologist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist.

    Prior to dedicating himself to full time practice, Dr. Schinaman served as the Senior Adolescent Eating Disorders Specialist, Program Coordinator and Director of Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs at Walden Behavioral Care in Waltham, Massachusetts. Prior to moving to New Hampshire, Dr. Schinaman held a faculty appointment as Director of Integrated Behavioral Health at the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, MO and is a veteran of both the US Army and the US Air Force.

  • Stacey Redman, M.Ed., LMFT

    Co-Managing Partner

    Stacey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Co-Managing Partner of Growing Roots Integrative Health & Wellness. She joined the practice in 2012 after developing numerous outreach and clinical programs as Director of Counseling at the New Hampton School, a college preparatory school in Central New Hampshire. She completed her undergraduate education at Worcester State College and the Masters of Education in Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Springfield College, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

    Stacey was an Adjunct Professor within the Graduate School of Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy at Plymouth State University and brings over 25 years of experience using evidence-based practice. Clinically, Stacey is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Systems, as well as Maudsley Family Based Treatment for Adolescent Eating Disorders.

    Stacey has presented professional development seminars at schools, universities, regional and national conferences on the topics of adolescent eating disorders, anxiety disorders and substance use in school settings. Her expertise lies in working with adolescent and adult populations as well as couples/marital therapy.

    Prior to relocating to New Hampshire, Stacey worked extensively with disadvantaged inner-city children in Charlotte, NC and also provided in-home behavioral health services to under-served families.

  • Sarah Shadallah, APRN, FNP-C

    Nurse Practitioner

    Sarah Shadallah graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Rivier University and is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has over a decade of experience caring for patients of all ages. She has a special interest in mental health. She went on to further study psychiatry through continuing education courses with Harvard Medical School. She is also licensed to treat those battling addiction.

    Sarah enjoys exploring alternative treatment options with her patients in addition to conventional medicine. She is a 200-hour trained yoga teacher and Reiki 1 practitioner. She will also be completing additional training in Functional Medicine this Fall. She is excited to share her knowledge base and work together with her patients, to promote optimal health and wellness at Growing Roots.

  • Ruth Levesque, RN

    Medical / Administrative Assistant

    Ruth Levesque graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has gained nearly 20 years of dedicated nursing experience, predominantly in the mental health field. She is deeply committed to promoting holistic health, blending traditional and alternative healing methods while working alongside patients as they improve their mental and physical health. As a certified Reiki Master and Clinical Herbalist, she brings a unique perspective to patient care, integrating these practices to enhance both physical and mental health.

    Passionate about lifelong learning, Ruth continually seeks new knowledge and techniques in alternative healing. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys practicing yoga and meditation, further exemplifying her dedication to a balanced and health-conscious lifestyle.

  • Bryan Randolph, LICSW

    Director of Training and Development, Staff Therapist

    As Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Bryan holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master of Science (MS) in Kinesiology, focusing on Adventure Therapy. With over 10 years of clinical experience, he has been involved in the behavioral health field since 2007.

    He spent five years as a primary clinician at Mountain Valley Treatment Center, a leading residential facility specializing in Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. His extensive training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention therapy. Specializing in Anxiety and OCD, he particularly addresses issues like academic perfectionism and social phobia.

    Experienced in working with First Responders, including Fire Service, Law Enforcement Officers, and EMS personnel, he has completed training in Critical Incident Stress Management to meet the unique needs of these professionals.

    In addition, he is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which can address single incidents, complex traumatic events, and generalized conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and disordered eating. A distinctive feature of ART is that much of the processing is internal, allowing participants the option to discuss their issues.

    Currently, he sees clients across the lifespan, including children ages 10 and up, teens, and adults. He collaborates with parents and school staff when appropriate, employing a systems approach to address issues holistically in both private and public school settings.

    Passionate about working with a diverse range of clients, he feels particularly drawn to those who may be uncertain or resistant to therapy. Committed to providing individualized and collaborative treatment, he strongly believes in avoiding a "one size fits all" approach.

  • Jennifer Fullerton, MSW, M.Ed., LICSW

    Director of Clinical Training, Staff Therapist (child)

    Jennifer is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Jennifer obtained an undergraduate degree from Boston College in biology and psychology and has Master’s degrees in social work and education from the University of Vermont and Plymouth State University. Jennifer has worked in the field of adolescent residential treatment in New England for over twenty-five years in various clinical, administrative, and supervisory roles. Jennifer has also provided intensive home-based counseling services for adolescents in Maine, who were unable to access office-based services.

    Jennifer’s diverse clinical training and experience include: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Affect Regulation: A Guide to Education and Therapy (TARGET), a research based intervention for adolescents and adults who have experienced psychological trauma; Aggression Replacement Training, an evidenced based group model that focuses on social and anger management skills.

    Jennifer specializes in the treatment of trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, and depression. Her passion is partnering with children, adolescents, and families to effect change and growth that will assist them in living a life filled with hope, confidence, and strength.

  • Christopher Stoddard, Psy.D., NCSP

    Staff Psychologist

    Dr. Stoddard is a licensed school and clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings. He received his graduate training at William James College in Newton, MA, from which he earned a Master of Arts in Professional Psychology, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in School Psychology, and a Doctorate in School Psychology. Dr. Stoddard completed his doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at The Triumph Center for Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Counseling in Reading, MA. He is currently core faculty member in the nationally accredited school psychology program at Plymouth State University.

    Dr. Stoddard has training and expertise in brief solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. Additionally, Dr. Stoddard has robust experience conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations.

    Dr. Stoddard has presented locally and nationally on ways therapists and counselors monitor their client’s progress. His specialty is working with pre-teen and adolescent boys who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges at home and school.

  • Christine O’Meara, MA, LCMHC

    Staff Therapist

    Christine “Chrissy” O’Meara earned her Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness through the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Prior to that, Chrissy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Dartmouth College, and taught psychology for five years at the Holderness School, a college preparatory school in central New Hampshire.

    Chrissy enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Her clinical and research interests center on anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Chrissy has training and expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Chrissy chose to become KAP-certified because she feels that it could be a very powerful treatment for those who haven't found other treatments to be effective and feel "stuck" with their mental health.

    Chrissy is a compassionate listener who believes in the importance of working with the client to build lifelong skills to overcome various challenges.

  • Emma Van Ness, PhD, MS

    Staff Therapist | Pre-Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

    Emma received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022 from Plymouth State University. Prior to this, Emma received double Bachelors of Arts degrees in Italian and art history from University of Chicago, Masters of Arts from Middlebury College in Italian, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from University of California, Los Angeles, in Italian, with a focus on psychoanalytic and feminist theory in cinema studies.

    Before joining Growing Roots, Emma spent twenty years teaching at the elementary, middle school, and collegiate levels, both in the United States and in Italy. Emma also completed the CAR Recovery Coach Academy in 2019 and is pursuing a specialization in Addictions Treatment and EMDR for trauma.

    Emma’s clinical approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Emma is also a mindfulness practitioner and a yogi; she also enjoys spending time outdoors cycling, hiking, running, and swimming. Her research interests include somatic approaches to psychotherapy, the mind-body connection, and alternative, body-based approaches to recovery and mental health treatment. As a former college athlete, Emma understands and relates to the pressures young people are facing and believes in connecting with clients with empathy and authenticity. Emma is known for her compassion, her sense of humor, and her love of nature and history.

  • Kirsten Nataren Crus, MA

    Staff Therapist | Pre-Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

    Kirsten earned a BA from Emory University in African Studies and Psychology and an MA in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Prior to joining Growing Roots, Kirsten worked with adults and adolescents at an eating disorder treatment center. Due to her previous work in private practice, she has experience working with couples, Spanish speakers, and clients struggling with anxiety and depression.

    As a therapist, Kirsten believes in creating a safe, accepting, and collaborative relationship to give people the foundation to grow and change. She believes in accepting people where they are, working with them to discover where they want to be, and encouraging them to make changes as they are ready. To her, it is important to talk openly and honestly about the client-therapist relationship and address any concerns the client may have. It takes a great deal of courage to be willing to reach out for help, and she is honored to be part of your journey.

  • Marina Lipson, MA

    Staff Therapist | Pre-Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

    Marina recently graduated from SNHU with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire in 2018. Before joining the Growing Roots team, Marina worked in a residential setting treating clients diagnosed with schizophrenia, PTSD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, anxiety, and depression. She also acquired her RBT certification working as an Applied Behavioral Analyst in 2019. As a Behavioral Analyst, Marina worked with young children diagnosed with autism to support and encourage their ongoing growth and development.

    As a therapist, Marina is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults. Her clinical and research interests center on anxiety, mood disorders, and complex trauma. She hopes to provide a mental sanctuary for her clients that fosters both mental relaxation & intellectual & emotional expansion. Her goal is always to deepen the capacity for joy, peace, and connection by promoting congruence between the ideal self and the real self.

  • Deidre Rideout, MA

    Staff Therapist | Pre-Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

    Deidre Rideout earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with her certificate in Addictions Treatment in 2021 from Plymouth State University. Prior to that, Deidre received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a K-8 teaching certification and a minor in Mental Health Studies from Plymouth State University.

    Before entering the therapy world, Deidre worked as a teacher at a local elementary school for seven years and has experience providing individualized support to children. Due to her previous work in private practice and at a community mental health center, Deidre has experience working with all ages in all walks of life, including people in crisis. Deidre’s future goals as a clinician include becoming EMDR certified and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) certified. Deidre is passionate about working with adolescents and adults and providing person-centered care in an inclusive and supportive environment. She uses an eclectic clinical approach in therapy, utilizing skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as mindfulness components. Deidre believes in meeting clients where they are at to help them develop lifelong strategies they can use to promote change in their lives. Deidre believes in honesty and openness in therapy, and strives to create a space where people feel safe, accepted, comfortable to confront anything.

  • Hailey McAfee-Scimone, Psy.D

    Staff Therapist | Post Doctoral Fellow

    Hailey is a postdoctoral fellow who recently graduated from Antioch University New England with her Psy.D. and Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. She completed her undergraduate training in psychology at Wellesley College. Hailey completed her internship at the Brattleboro Retreat, where she provided psychological care and consultation on the adolescent inpatient unit, and worked with children, teens, and adults providing individual therapy in the outpatient clinic.

    She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her therapeutic style draws from person-centered, CBT and ACT, and feminist therapies while utilizing a trauma-informed approach. Her clinical and research interests include anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and school-based interventions. Additionally, Hailey has experience conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations.

    Hailey is passionate about supporting individuals in working toward their most authentic self while navigating complex experiences and emotions. She places a focus on identifying and using client strengths as a source of empowerment to help them achieve their goals, while working collaboratively with clients to create a warm and supportive therapeutic environment.

  • Maggie Barton, MSW

    Staff Therapist | Pre-Licensed Social Worker

    Maggie recently graduated from University of New Hampshire with a Master's in Social Work and received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Bates College in 2020. Before joining the Growing Roots team, Maggie worked at The White Mountain School, a college preparatory school in Northern New Hampshire. There she held a variety of roles including: Wellness Coordinator, Counselor, Dorm Head, and Math Teacher.

    Maggie enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She utilizes a client-lead, strength-based approach in working with clients to identify their goals and collaborate in building their toolkit to reach them. Her clinical approach incorporates several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Maggie believes in the value of understanding yourself and what works for you as you endure life’s challenges and appreciate its joys.

  • Mary Eager

    Clinic Manager

    Mary joins us after having spent over twenty years in the nonprofit world holding various management roles. She has held the position of Executive Director for a worldwide social service agency across multiple locations and has also served as the Administrative Coordinator for over four years for the Behavioral Health Practice at United Community and Family Services in Norwich, CT.

    Prior to relocating to New Hampshire, Mary spent the past three years in Naples, Italy, where she was the Administrative Assistant for the Europe, Africa, and Central Region’s Business Office. Mary has a wide variety of management and administrative skills, and truly enjoys supporting clinical staff, and is known for her ability to bring compassion and humor to any situation.

  • Halsey Redman

    Marketing and Social Media Specialist

    Halsey graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2021 with a BA in Theater and a Minor in Audio/Video Production. After graduating, she spent time as a House Manager in Cape Elizabeth, where she honed her organizational and creative abilities. Her background in both performing and visual arts aids her in crafting compelling narratives and engaging content across digital platforms. Halsey hopes that through sharing information on the Growing Roots social media, she can help reach a larger demographic of people who could benefit from all the clinic and its staff has to offer.

  • Chelsea Salomon, DNP, MBA, CRNA

    Nurse Anesthetist

    Chelsea Salomon is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who earned her Master's in Nursing Anesthesia from Northeastern University in 2019. Since then, she has completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master's in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins in 2023. She works with patients of all ages, providing anesthesia care for patients of all ages and in all anesthesia specialties. Chelsea began her career in anesthesia and nursing after initially enjoying a career in material science research, focusing on carbon nanotubes and lubrication formulations.
