Community & Training
As a premier multidisciplinary mental health clinic located within the beautiful Lakes Region of central New Hampshire - we are pleased to share our expertise and be involved with multiple different facets within our greater Central New Hampshire community. We frequently work with local first responders, schools, summer camps, and parents to provide support, resources, and tools to navigate every aspect of life. If you would like to explore our community and training services, please contact our office manager Mary, to discuss how we can help (603) 238-3149.
Like many educational institutions, we are seeing more campers and staff dealing with mental health challenges. As a small organization that could not afford full-time counseling resources, Growing Roots was a perfect solution for us. They were available to consult with me as the Director to evaluate situations, and with permission, to speak with campers and staff as needed. They were available at any hour, and responded promptly and professionally when I needed them most. Additionally, the training they gave our staff prior to the summer in Mental Health First Aid 101 gave our team a better foundation to respond to challenges as they arose, and ultimately be better educators to the boys in our care.
Summer Camps
Growing Roots provides consultation, training, and support for summer camp staff and counselors to address emergency mental health situations that may arise during camps. This also includes practical skills & tools, and de-escalation strategies to prevent mental health crises. Our goal is to prepare camp staff to build competent skills to address situations at camp and in their lives outside of camp. Learn more about our summer camp workshops and consulting services.
School Workshops
Growing Roots provides in person workshops for students that help to address adolescent and teen issues such as eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. We aim to provide education and understanding of normal behavioral changes, diagnosable disorders, and how to spot the difference. We also provide tools and resources to help navigate these challenging obstacles and potential disorders that young people may face.
First Responders
Growing Roots recognizes the challenges our local police, firefighters, EMS and other first responders experience on the job. With this in mind we have developed some educational initiatives with the goal of reducing line-of-duty injuries and managing crises.

Parent Workshops
We aim to address adolescent development pathways and help parents learn to differentiate between developmental challenges/behaviors vs pathological behaviors and when to seek professional help. We arm parents with education and tools to help manage and improve their child’s behavior and relationships at home.
